One of the keys to the success and strong performance of Permadur's permanent lifting magnets is their fundamental magnetic material: Neodymium, which has a number of properties that make it the ideal magnet for use as permanent lifting magnets in sheet handling and manufacturing applications. These properties include:
- Serious magnetic strength. Neodymium is the strongest permanent magnet that is commercially available. These magnets have a high saturation of magnetization and are therefore able to store more magnetic energy and exert more of that energy on the material than other magnets. A neodymium magnet is able to attract 1,000 times its own weight. What that means to you is, a Permadur permanent lifting magnet can deliver maximum power over a maximum lifespan.
- Won't lose strength. Neodymium magnets are highly resistant to demagnetization - so when kept in proper conditions and care, the material will essentially never lose any of its magnetic power.
- Cost-effective. Especially when considering the superior lifting capacity of a neodymium magnet, the material's cost is very reasonable, and when properly cared for, the material is extremely durable (the same can be said for Permadur's products themselves!)
