Lifting Magnet Systems, below-the-hook lifting equipment

The construction industry is an industry of movement. Every material used on a project must be quickly and efficiently transferred from point A to point B in order to get the job done. There are many innovative types of machinery that accomplish this goal such as vacuum handling systems. These systems use a unique technology that offers many benefits to businesses all across the construction industry. Getting a better understanding of those benefits could be the deciding factor in whether they are right for your construction project.

Less Downtime

Industrial lifting usually isn’t a quick and easy process. Many crane systems rely on mechanisms that use hooks, slings, and chains which require time-consuming rigging. Vacuum handling systems circumvent this process by applying vacuum force to an object directly from the machine. Without the hooking and unhooking of rigging each time. vacuum systems have much faster loading and unloading times. All you need to do is apply suction to the load, and release suction to place the load down. We’ve all heard the term, ‘time is money’ and vacuum systems help turn that saved downtime into more profit.

Strong Connection

The power and stability of vacuum handling systems is often underestimated. The vacuum technology offers an efficient way to lock onto a load and pick it up without the risk of chains or slings loosening. This increases the safety of your lifts which protects not only your employees' wellbeing but prevents load damage and downtime.

Components of Vacuum Handling Systems

Vacuum handling systems are made of four major components, the vacuum pump, sealing pad, reservoir, and alarms. The vacuum pump is operated by an engine or hydraulically powered by the host lifting equipment. The vacuum reservoir adds a secondary suction that will provide a vacuum if there is a power outage or another type of power failure. The vacuum pads are interchangeable and are placed on the load. This is where the suction takes place. Finally, the alarm gives audible and visible alerts of any issues that occur during the lifting process.
