Model Guide

Reading the Model Numbers

Each model number tells you the size: L-5-3 is a 5-ton class unit with a 3″ stroke. L units lower only; LL units lift and lower. Other units are available on request — consult the factory.

HOW IT WORKS

Self-Contained Hydraulic Link

The Loadpositioner sits between the hoist and the load. Pulling the control rope precisely controls lowering speed through the last critical inches. The unit stops immediately when the rope is released and resets automatically when the load is removed.

›  Positioning to within .001″

›  Lowering speed 0–5 FPM, infinitely variable

›  Automatically resets

›  3″ to 12″ stroke

›  1,000 to 40,000 lb capacity

›  3 to 1 safety factor

›  Completely self-contained

›  Requires no external power

›  No installation cost

›  Eliminates hoist jogging

LL (lift and lower) models add:

›  Lift increments of .005″ per pump stroke

›  Positioning to within .001″

Optional: lower eye connector.

WHY THE LOADPOSITIONER

Control the Last Critical Inches

Protects costly machines, tooling and loads

The control rope sets lowering speed from 0 to 5 FPM, infinitely variable, through the last critical inches. Release the rope and the load stops immediately.

Simplifies alignment and assembly

Positions to within .001″ and eliminates hoist jogging. LL models also lift in .005″ increments per pump stroke.

Eliminates quality control problems

Completely self-contained, with no external power and no installation cost. The unit resets automatically when the load is removed. 3:1 safety factor.

COMPARE

L or LL —
Which Loadpositioner Fits Your Lift?

Both styles share the same body sizes and capacity classes. The difference is whether the operator needs to lift as well as lower.

APPLICATIONS

Loadpositioner Applications

Die & Mold Setting

Lower dies and molds into the press or machine and settle them on locating features without bumping the crane.

Machine Loading

Load heavy workpieces and fixtures onto machine tables with fine control at the hook.

Assembly & Alignment

Bring heavy components together and seat them accurately during assembly and installation.

Tooling Protection

Control the last critical inches of a lower so costly tooling and machines are not damaged.

Maintenance & Repair

Set motors, gearboxes and other heavy components back on their mounts.

Plate Handling

Pair the Loadpositioner with our Series 102 magnetic plate lifter for 5′ × 10′ plate.

Not Sure Which Loadpositioner Fits Your Lift?

Send us your load weight, the stroke you need and the headroom available at your hook — we’ll recommend the model and send a formal quote. No sales pitch, just an engineered answer.

LOADPOSITIONER FAQ

Loadpositioner FAQ

How does the Loadpositioner work?
It is a self-contained hydraulic link between the hoist and the load. Pulling the control rope precisely controls lowering speed through the last critical inches. The unit stops immediately when the rope is released and resets automatically when the load is removed. It needs no external power and no installation.
What is the difference between an L and an LL model?
L models lower the load only. LL models lift and lower, with lift increments of .005″ per pump stroke. Both are offered in the same capacity classes, so choose based on whether your operator needs to move the load in both directions.
How do I read a model number like L-5-3 or LL-10-6?
The first letters give the style (L or LL), the first number is the capacity class in tons, and the last number is the stroke in inches. L-5-3 is a 5-ton class lowering unit with a 3″ stroke. LL-10-6 is a 10-ton class lifting/lowering unit with a 6″ stroke.
What is the minimum capacity?
Each model has a rated minimum load as well as a maximum. For example, the 5-ton class units are rated from 150 lb to 5,000 lb. Select a model whose range covers your lightest and heaviest loads.
How do I choose the right size and stroke?
Start with the weight of your load, then the stroke you need at the hook, then the headroom you can spare. Dimension A in the tables is the overall length of the unit. Send us your details and we will confirm the model.
Are other sizes or options available?
Yes. A lower eye connector is available as an option, and other units are available on request. Consult the factory.
What do the prices include, and how do I order?
Prices shown are 2026 list prices effective 01/2026 and are subject to change. Use Buy Now on any model to open its product page, or contact us for a formal quote with freight and lead time.
What is the Series 102 magnetic plate lifter?
The Series 102 is a magnetic plate lifter, a steel plate handling system with two lifting magnets on an adjustable load beam and a chain sling for a single-hook crane. It is configured to your plate sizes and weights. Visit the Series 102 page for specs and a quote.
