The pictured system is a PERMADUR Series 927 Plate Handling System. This system consists of a 3000 Power Pac and 27 ea. VPN-16-30 neoprene vacuum pads on a 53.5′ load beam with 9 ea. 8′ long rotating crossarms. The load beam was designed to interface with a double-hook crane with hooks on 30′ centers.
Each pad includes individual manual shut-off valves. The crossarms and the outside pads on the crossarms could be repositioned to address changes in plate sizes. The Power Pac is powered by 460 VAC, 3-phase power from the crane. An ON/OFF pushbutton pendant on a 15′ cord supports operator controls, and a vacuum reserve tank provides backup if power fails. A center bail was provided for system carrying only.
